The research project “QuaSi II”, which funded the development of the tools now published under the QuaSi umbrella, has ended at the end of March 2026. Yet this does not mean development is over! We are hard at work finalising the full 1.0 release of ReSiE and have a roadmap for further changes and features.

In addition, a new research project has started, which focuses on the demand side of district energy system simulations. As part of this project new open source tools will be developed and released as part of QuaSi, as well as changes to GenSim to make use of them. More information on this project and the tools will be made available in the near future.

Current development of ReSiE involves:

  • An intermediary release v0.14.0, focusing on the calculation of economical results of a simulation and green house gas emissions
  • Preparations for the full 1.0 release with, among smaller changes, an implementation of performing variational studies, sensitivity analysis and optimisation of parameters using single-machine parallel computing

Lastly, this website will receive a small overhaul in the new future. We wish to make the connections between the involved organisations clearer and provide a better overview of the network of software that has been developed as part of or otherwise connected with the research projects.

Please look forward to the updates and news in the coming months!
