QuaSi is an open source software bundle for modelling the energy demand and energy supply of buildings on a city district scale. It focuses on renewable energy, sector-coupling and non-linear operational & control strategies in early planning stages of both new constructions and retrofits.
The bundle consists of several tools, each focusing on a part of the whole. These include simulations as well as utility tools to facilitate a workflow for using QuaSi. Have a look!

Coordination & development
siz energieplus acts as the project coordinator, both for internal communication between the partners as well as the larger open source community. We also develop and maintain the open source tools released as QuaSi Software. QuaSi grew as a toolbox from previous work for research projects on the energy systems of districts.

This project was funded in majority by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), formerly known as the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK), under grant number 03EN3053. In the project SLP_Ade, grant number 03EN3135, GenSim will be developed further and more open source tools will be integrated under the umbrella of the QuaSi project. This project is also funded by the BMWE.
